Ekiti July 14th: Igbemo Ekiti throws support behind Fayemi ahead of Election
Major stakeholders in Igbemo Ekiti throws support in behind APC Candidate, Kayode Fayemi ahead of July 14th election.
Ahead of the July 14th Ekiti governorship election, Leaders and major stakeholders in the APC at Igbemo Ekiti, Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, have resolved to unite and work for the success of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Fayemi polled a total of 941 votes to beat former Governor Segun Oni who scored 481 and 31 other aspirants in the rescheduled primary election held under a very right security and has emerged as the party’s candidate for July’s governorship election in the state.
The convener of the meeting, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun, told present reporters that the leaders from the town had put the party’s primaries behind them and resolved to work for Fayemi in accordance with the party’s constitution to emerge new governor of Ekiti. Olatunbosun assured Fayemi of the total support of Igbemo people during the July 14 polls saying it was a payback time for Fayemi who he said did a lot for Igbemo Ekiti during his tenure as governor, unlike the present administration. He added that Igbemo people had seen the difference between the two administrations in terms of projects and human capital development in the town, declaring that “it is going to be payback time for Dr. Fayemi.”
Dr Kayode Fayemi was governor of Ekiti state between 2010 and 2014 before he went on to serve till now, as Minister under President Buhari’s administration as Minister for Solid Minerals Development. The Ekiti State Election will hold on July 14th, 2018.
